What other games have people been playing lately?

I've been playing some:

NHL07 on the xbox360.  Great graphics beat the crud out of nhl2k7 and the stick control new this year is awesome.  Some flaws in the franchise mode, but still a good game. 

I've also played through a bit of Fight Night 3 again on the 360.  Amusing little game, but having to do the mini-games before every fight to keep your stats up gets tiring.

On the PC I finally got around to installing Europa Universalis III.  This game is like CivIII on crack.  Set with far more historical accuracy you can start the game in any year between 1453 and 1750something and have the borders and economic status start as they were.

So, you can start as Japan in 1773 and decide to intervene in the American Revolution.  Or start in 1453 as the lowly Creek Indians and see if with clever strategy and the use of cheat codes you can conqueor Europe and make shamanism the official religion of the Papal City. 

It has a heck of learning curve to figure it out.  But, once you figure it out it's pretty cool.

i'm working on Caesar III for computer.  I've put my consoles away (never got the 360 or PS3).

Actually had my wife pick up mechassault2 and Robotech Invasion for the xbox today. Sitting on my plush leather sofa is so much better for my back than my damn computer chair.

^^ tahts why i got this wonderfull comfy leather, huge chair for my computer :P dont care about the pc, just as long as WoW , SWG, Stronghold 2, Ruplic commando, BF2142 work and im comfy and my big-o-chair im set

SJruew you say EA's version is better in hockey. Just picked up 2k7 going to pick up NHL07 see what its like. Well for me I have been playin some FEAR, COD2,CS:S, UT2004 and some rise and fall(Only with 3 other friends} the armies are massive and the battles are insane. Plus you have third-person mode with you Hero. It is insane for battles.

I only played the demo for 2k7.  The biggest differences to me where:

- The graphics.  EA is full HD (and I play the xbox on the 61inch HDTV) and 2k7 wasn't.  So 2k7 looked like crap.
- Controls.  2k7 still has the traditional controls where you hit buttons to pass and shoot.  In EA, the controls are simple...yet hard to master.  The left stick controls the skater.  Speed, agility etc are based on player stats - there's no speed boost button.  The right stick controls the hockey stick.  Pass/shoot left right, dump up go low etc which leads to some good scoring opportunities.

Shruew I just picked it and wow what a huge difference from 2k7. I play on a 53inch HDTV and HOLYSHIT. I love it the total control is incredible. Being a hockey fan you tend to appreciate it alot more to. You goto love HD gaming..

Ok you 2 are killing me. Now I need to upgrade my xbox to the 360 and my video card to play the newer games coming out. Plus I need to finish paying for my trip to LA this summer, a new laptop, a motorcycle and a a trip to Vancouver in October. Man, time to go back to work, injury or not.
