4, they are still one short. And what is going to happen in big D this year? Bledsoe out (finally), Romo in. The next Aikmen perhaps?

oh... so many questions going into the offseason.

Tampa needs something and i think that Garcia will fit nicely for them for a year or two and give fledgling Simms a veteran to learn from.  Now if only they can fix those wide-outs and RBs they'll be set on offense.

Ahman Green is headed to Houston.  Nice fit, but Houston really needs to quit focusing on the RB position and start getting quality QBs on the books.  They have a dynamite team, but no one to lead them.

I'm really upset about Drew Bennet (WR) going to St. Louis.  He's a number one wideout and he'll be sharing the light with Holt and Bruce.  I sure hope he knows what he's doing.

Just a few of my thoughts.

Well, Plummer said take this job and shove it.  Which is really surprising, he's only 32.  Maybe he'll retire for a year, smoke some pot, and do a come back like Ricky.

I think it's a bit of stretch to call Bennett a #1 receiver.  He's only hit over 1000  yards once.  He's a good possession receiver.  Plus, Isaac Bruce is getting pretty old so he'll be at least #2 receiver next year.

The thing with Bennett is he's really never had the opportunity to shine like a number one because he's been tagged with questionable QBs or forced to share.  I think he'll definitely give Bruce a run for his money in the number two slot, but still he could have gone to Tampa, Oakland, or Houston and had a decent shot at a number one spot.  He had an awesome year in 2004 with McNair at the helm (1200 yrds, 11 TDs).  Last year blew because of the QB situation and the fact that they turned into a running team.  I think a move was good for him, but feel he'll never shine like he could.  I think if he was teamed up with Manning or Brady that he would be stellar, but that's just my opinion.

With Green going to Houston, doesn't that make two ex-Green Bay RBs to go there in the past year?  Nice really nice.  Hopefully Green will get some of his luster back.

Does anyone see Priest Holmes coming back this year?

Come on, pair any decent wide out with Brady or Manning and they will shine. So long as they can catch a ball, those two qb's will get it there. A wide out shines when he has a sub-par qb and is able to compensate or adjust to the qb and still make the catches.

Bears trade Thomas Jones and a 2nd round draft pick for nothing but a second round draft pick  :DOH!: ouch!  :diz:

Then Briggs says he'll never play another game for the Bears...

Off to a great offseason bears  :the clapper: :the clapper: :the clapper: :wall banger:

That's true to a point.  I can only think of a few awesome receivers (that are still playing today) that were paired with mediocre QBs, Steve Smith (Delhomme) and Santana Moss (Brunell).  Everyone else has been lucky because they were teamed with very good QB.  What I'm saying is that if Bennett had been with a better QB, he'd be awesome.  I think he'll be able to fit into their number two slot at St. Louis very well and Bulger is a decent QB to have.

That's crazy.  Crazy because Chicago is putting their stock in a RB that hasn't performed yet.  Jones is gonna be awesome with the Jets.  Benson will put up a solid 1000 yrds, but won't be able to do it all alone with Crazy Rex throwing the ball.

Some interesting off season moves as of late.  The Bears shore up their safeties with Adam Archuleta for a 6th rounder.  But, their defensive line continues to dwindle with Boone signing with the Chiefs and Tank in the metal clink.

Houstan gives up on Carr.  2 second round picks will be a lot, so hopefully he's actually good as people think.

It seems the two superbowl teams are having problems keeping players.  the colts lost 3 defensive starters and two offensive starters so far!  the bears are in the same boat defensively.  this is madness!  AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH :Romanian Logic:

If you think economics is madness...but, that's the way the NFL is.  The bears haven't really lost any real starters.  Except maybe to jail terms...  But, they're losing all their depth at the defensive line.

Briggs is threatening to sit out, but I can't imagine he'll do that.  I mean, they Bears will just slap the franchise on him again next year.  What's he going to do, sit out 2 years in a row? I think it's silly that Briggs calls for such injustice for the Bears using the Franchise when the players and owners agreed to its concept in the first place.  Oh well.

I like the Archuleta move, but hopefully they do something to make up for the lack of depth on the defensive line and do something to help the aging offensive line.

Any eagles fans out there?  What do you think of your new linebacker?  But, who in their right mind trades for Kelly Holcomb?

Redskins are reportedly interested in trading their 1st round draft pick (6th overall) to the Bears for Briggs and the Bears 31st pick.  Hopefully the Bears can hold out for an additional 3rd or 4th rounder, though.

Adam Archuleta is definitely a solid safety for a white guy.
And as far as the franchize tag goes  Why do these players think they have the right to bitch and moan about the franchise tag? It's the way the way it is and if he or any other player doesn't like it they should retire or the players should strike and get a new labor agreement. I mean I am sure the players union agreed to this whnever the last deal was struck.
