The Road is a father / son survival / road trip post-apocalypse / treatise on man's ability to survive against all odds. Also, the father is a total douche bag. The hero of our story, the father, has two three unique special abilities that make him compelling and worth watching in this movie - 1) He likes to get naked 2) His only plan is to run and try to escape and 3) If all else fails he can always attempt to kill his son (often). The movie also starts with the father showing his son how to commit suicide properly. It gets less cheerful from there...
The movie consists of father and son going from place to post-apocalptic place avoid danger and son-icide. Along the way the father gets naked. Then he dies. SPOILER ALERT. What you just read before SPOILER ALERT was a spoiler. Then the boy meets a non-douche bag family and then, I dunno, goes on to invent a new flavor of jello or some shit. The End.
