I love the total war series. I havent played empires though. I would get it now but i dont think the laptop i have at school could handle it.

though you did inspire me to want to install rome on this and play a little single player.

How much is it?  Since you like the series you will probably like it.  I havent played it in a while, but it had some nasty game ending bugs you could get stuck in.  Overall it was good though.  There's at least 1 expansion out for it.
