My damn video card went out last night.

I logged into the game created my soldier,screen started blinking yada yada yada,blue screen crash etc,..it had been doing it kinda on and off all day,I had a feeling it was going. I put my old card back in,but unfortunately its WAYY below the specs,so untill I order a new one,I wont be playing,I might get off cheap thou ,Im sure if I went over my brothers house I could raid his stash of discarded crap and come up with something.

I know a couple of you experienced a less sever version of the biggest issue that I'm having but I don't know how widespread this may or may not be.

Probably in the range of 60% of the time, my strafe command seems to "stick" and my character just constantly moves even when I'm not pressing any keys.  This mostly happens as "strafe right" but I've also had it to the left and (much less common), forward & backwards.  Incredibly fucking frustrating.  Even after getting killed because I can't stop moving (unless I park myself against an object) and or shoot accurately, I often re-spawn and keep right on strafing. 

Exactly how many of you have experienced this?  To what degree?  I think I'm gonna uninstall tonight and start over.

It may be the issue that I'm having is causing me to wind up pissed off and frustrated but I didn't think this game was all that great.  I've not played a Battlefield game before but this left a lot to be desired in my eyes.  Another game with no lean and this one has no prone.  No toggles for sprint or crouch.  Not being able to start a sprint with your sights up seems silly... I don't want to be able to sprint while sighted but I'd think activating the sprint command would automatically drop your sights as you started running.  Apparently not.  Also, what's with not being able to sprint/strafe (sort of like running while not looking straight ahead)?  I didn't care for that either.  The non-hardcore thing is not my taste at all (although I assume the full release will certainly have hardcore mode?).  The graphics aren't that impressive and I was running everything maxed out at 1920x1200.  And the controls just felt a little funny or off.

I know this is just a beta - and I've never played a beta before so I may be jumping the gun here - but I'd be surprised if the actual release is terribly different that what we got last night.  Like I said, a big part of my bitching may be multiplied by my frustrations with the strafe bug but, overall, it was very "blah" for me.  Here's to hoping it gets better.

I've had the strafe issue 3 or 4 times now and I agree with everything else you've said.
They made over 130 updates from the PS3 beta so if we speak out, I think DICE will listen.

We should start posting on the site that scrolls at the bottom of the game there.  It's combat...something.

I didnt have any strafe problems.  Did you custom set your keys?  That was a lil funky for me for some reason I messed up looking around with the mouse control.  But, after I get that set I had no issue.

It's very much built on previous Battlefield games.  Some of the coloring they did with the scope was weird.  And yes, I didnt like not having 1 shot 1 kill sniping.  I did enjoy getting into a tank and stomping people again though.

What frustrated me more is that map is soooooooo lopsided.  I also don't think all the models are finished.  Isn't the c4 charge the motion mines from 2142?  (man, I kind of miss 2142 and those mines).

I'm certainly not going to cancel the pre-order.  I'm half sick of MW2 maps and not sure if it will be worth it to pay for the new maps.

Yea Bo.. the start running issue is kinda pissing me off to actually. I love this game. I allready loved Battlefield Bad Company, only problem was it was on the freakin PS3 -.-
I have had pretty much no issue at all today. Well Connection lost once and that was it. I start the game, click on join game and Im on a server in like 5 secs. Im impressed that it works that fine for me. Normally Im the one with the problems xD

As for hardcore mode... I really doubt there will be one by stock as there wasnt one in Battlefield Bad Company. I dont know about Battlefield 2 and those other ones.
What I really love is that the game is allready balanced quite well. Im still not frustrated by the tanks as u have actually a chance to destroy them. Same with the helicopter.

Now they only need to fix those other issues. Oh wait.. i have one little problem... my fps kinda suck. They are around 30-70 and thats not really cool. I have read that its a quite common problem so I guess I gotta wait for the full version.. shouldnt be a problem anymore by then ;)

yeah i found one on craigs list,If the guy emails me back Im gonna go get it tonight, 8500gt for 20 bucks,figured that will be good enough till my brother orders his new card on monday,and im gonna inherit his current one(yes,Im cheap)
