From what I recall the leagues go on for a while so even if you’re busy now sign up to get on the roster.

Spring Has Sprung

Here in Chicago apparently spring has been cancelled (as was much of winter) and we’re heading straight into summer.

But today, specifically, is also a special occasion other than the day after spring began.

On this date in 1973, famed Turkish minstrel Âşık Veysel Şatıroğlu died. It is also World Puppetry Day.

Veysel as a child lost vision in one eye due to small pox and lost his other eye due to a cataract. With nothing much to do and not being invited to World War I due to blindness, he dedicated his time to playing the baglama. Which is nothing like a llama.

The Badass Turkish Baglama-er’s luck didnt get much better. He married, but lost his son after 10 days. And then his wife left him for a servant from his brother’s house.

Still, he refused to become a puppeteer.

If only the rest of the world were so brave.

In conclusion, I hate puppeteers.

January Transfer Window Round Up

Ranger Squad added two new combatants in the 2012 January transfer window. Both acquired as free transfers, RS added thecircusbOy and LostPawn.

Despite persistent rumors that LoveOfProfit would be lured back to his native lands and join Wisła Kraków, insider sources reveal that negotiations never got passed the informal enquiry phase.

Overall the transfer window will be remembered as tame, perhaps due to the new Fair Play rules curtailing unbridled transfer spending.

How these new transfers will translate to success in the remaining ’11/’12 BF3 season remains to be sign. But, predictions run from insanely successfully to ridiculously successful. Surely.

After dominating and going undefeated in the regular season — poor chillybilly lost in the first round of the playoffs. SkillaPlaya (sarg) takes first and Bad Touch Down (non-RS player) takes second.

Happy American USA-is-best Thanksgiving to all our American friends. To all our non-American friends, Hi.

It’s hard to believe that this is the ninth Thanksgiving Ranger Squad is seeing. So thanks to everyone that’s been hanging around, floating in and out, or have to arrive. I have no idea why any of us continue to hang out here

As Confucius once said, “Any man, regardless of background, creed or abilities, can teach you at least ten things. But taming Shandong ain’t one of them.”

And if you really think about, that’s what Ranger Squad is all about. Dong references.

And Battlefield 3 is finally upon us… so far so good. Most people here seem to be bypassing COD:MW3 which comes out in a couple weeks as well.

In Ranger Squad Fantasy Football news: this seems to be chillybilly’s year. Not only is he running the table so far at 7-0, but he’s also outscoring the next closest team by 200 points…

A Bit of Philosophy

As the world’s only Two Time Ranger Squad Fantasy Football Champion I know the ins and out of winning. Yet, no one tastes the sweet fruits of victory without having the smooshy poo of having ate too much fruit losses.

I’m a bit reflective because despite being the world’s only Two Time Ranger Squad Fantasy Football Champion I stand here before you with a 0-3 start in this year’s competition.

But, as Clare Ansberry once wrote, “Gardens and flowers have a way of bringing people together, drawing them from their homes.”

For you see, Fantasy Football are the gardens and Battlefield 3 are the flowers, Rom is the bringing part and I think chilly is the drawing thing and LoveOfProfit is represented by the homes.
